4.2.11 ... recycled gift wrap . vintage paper supply packs . enchiladas

Img_5186

today i wrapped a book in a discarded art technique book paper. this is the tag. i used my new crochet string for the first time, too. the original sticker price is .29 how old do you think that makes it??? i wonder. as you can see...

Img_5173

... the book cover is not in good condition but i love the interior and since the book is so large i thought of using the papers for wrapping or making large envelopes.

Img_5181

it's way too gorgeous to go to the recycling bin just yet. i might make some tags out of the wrap next since the receiver gave it back to me to reuse. he couldn't bear the thought of throwing it away yet. i'll use it for something that's for sure.

i also worked on clipping images for my vintage recycled paper packets. i love these graphics. i am still mulling over how i want to compose the packets. by themes perhaps or maybe by colors or maybe mixed up or maybe i should make all of these combinations and see if my shoppers have a preference.

Img_5234

it's very therapeutic clipping up these old discards.

Img_5228

the big question is: will i be able to part with these?

Img_5230

and last, but not least, our 'heart' tomato from last night's dinner - it was scout's night and she made kraut subs that were divine.

Img_5167

isn't that something? it's a sign.

Img_5239

and tonight i made individual stacked cheese/onion/sour cream enchiladas. now i am off to catch elton john host saturday night live. hope you've enjoyed today's post.
sweet dreams, everyone. thanks for stopping by. until tomorrow. happiness to you. from me. with heart. ox joon

3.4.11 ... tuna salads and recycled book cover envelope

Img_3937

today's creations ... a homemade envelope with pizzazz. this book cover is too pretty to discard. the book is also pretty. i've been using the salvaged pieces in many projects but this is the first time i've had just the right type and size package to fashion the cover, which i have saved for an embarrassingly long time now, into an envelope.

Img_3941

listen to this: i had two etsy sales yesterday, which is lovely but unusual. today when i packaged them up i thought i was seeing things. one street address was 2838 and the other was 4828. seriously. how bizarre is this? i can't imagine what the odds are on those numbers turning up in my inbox on the same day.

Img_3944

i love the coated paper. it makes a sturdy envelope. and saves the earth a little. every little bit helps. this envelope can even be reused.

Img_3939

and i hope it will be.

Img_3931

this is my lunch plate. i made tuna salads and ev and scout went kind of crazy over them so i snapped a few photos in case this was all i got around to making today. the envelope came later so i am ok. this creating every day is not as easy as it sounds. and it doesn't sound all that easy either.

Img_3930

it was a delicious lunch i must say. at the moment we just finished watching footloose. i have never seen it. very interesting. seemed interminably long. it was kind of like glee on valium. ev is making some chocolate drop cookies. warm cookies at almost 11 pm. we're living crazy here tonight, folks.
sweet dreams, everyone. thanks for stopping by. until tomorrow. happiness to you. from me. with heart. ox joon

Create-a-Day Contest Prize

I'm a winner! My wonderful CAD friend, Sheasy, had a contest . Count how many unripened cherry tomatoes were in her beautiful photo. I guessed 32 and won! Woo hoo! And look what I won! I can't wait to receive my package. This is so ME. And look at the adorable felt tomato. That's one of her creations. She sells the grooviest felted handcrafted works of art in her etsy shop, SHEASY.

Now, if only I could have shared those lovely ripened tomatoes with Sheasy! My list of etsy friends continues to grow and my list of favorite etsy friends does too. Gee, I wonder why? :) Anyway...Sheasy is one of favorite etsy friends. I love her like etsy.
