3.2.11 ... cupcake travel sacks and recipe card design touches

3

scout home-made-every-step-of-the-way wacky cupcakes (chocolate with peanut butter frosting) this morning. they are gifts for two families and we needed a handy and safe transport solution. i came up with this. it's based on our first natural easter baskets from years ago. a neighbor knocked on our door and ran off. she'd painted two grocery sacks in easter graphics and inside was easter grass and beautiful giant artichokes. she told us later that she remembered us mentioning what a treat they were to us. i'll never forget that. i miss that neighbor. she was such a hoot. i wish we hadn't lost track of one another.
but we'll always have these bags. we have made them many times over the years. easter bags, christmas bags, bags for holding books on the hearth... they last an amazingly long time - even with the kitties crawling in for a nap when we're not looking.

here are the beautiful cupcakes all ready for their journey and subsequent surprise entrance into her friends' lives.

i finished the recipe cards i started yesterday. there is a total of 15 cards and i added a unique edge design to each one. it was fun.

i haven't done an activity like this for quite a while. it's very peaceful.

i like the challenge of dreaming up a different edge design for each one.
