7.7.11 ... sendak buttons - pierre

Sendakii

late last night right before i turned off my phone, i had a sale in joonbeam. it was my pierre set of pinback buttons. after i thanked the buyer she sent a reply asking if i ever made more to let her know. i had only made the one set to try them out but i had a few circles cut so i made two more sets. this one you see above with pierre standing on his head a la 'i don't care' and his mother getting ready to leave him there and this one below ...

Sendakiii

... with pierre, his mother and father and the lion who ate him! the buyer chose this second set so i will list the other one as soon as i have a few moments. they are made using salvaged vintage book images from a book that is too well loved to remain intact but too well loved to be thrown to the landfill or recycling bin.

tomorrow and saturday are big days here as scout is attending the pixar master class. so exciting. i'll see you again tomorrow night. sweet dreams, everyone. thanks for stopping by. until tomorrow. happiness to you. from me. with heart. ox joon

4.8.11 ... maurice sendak pierre buttons

Img_5433

as you might imagine i had some fun with these, the first set in my limited run from a vintage, discarded library edition of pierre by maurice sendak. what is your favorite line from the book? it's hard to choose. the folding chair always kills me.

little cricket is still very ill and we're trying our hardest to get enough food into her to help her mend well and quickly as possible. we haven't managed to get a full can down her so i worry but we are doing what we can. i think we all just have to settle into a groove, none of us knowing what we are doing. it just breaks my heart to see her in such a critical state. we learned how to administer sub Q IV today and will add that to our regiment tomorrow. life is an adventure even in your own back yard.

sweet dreams, everyone. thanks for stopping by. until tomorrow. happiness to you. from me. with heart. ox joon

4.7.11 ... pierre ... and cricket comes home

Img_5419

i continued working on my pierre project that i started on yesterday. stage two i suppose we can call this. i cut circles to make magnets and pins and i made a pile of extra pieces for another project. i love these images.

Img_5426

if i had a nickel for every time i read this story. such fun. this book is a discard from a school library so its condition is no longer viable in its original state. but look how much new life a potential piece of trash/recycling can have. and i am only beginning.

in other news, cricket came home for the evening in a trial experiment. she is a fighter. i cannot believe the will she has, given the critical condition she has been and continues to be in all week. she is very weak and has a long way to go but we are not giving up on her. here she is this afternoon with scout who was learning how to syringe feed her. we left her for the afternoon to complete her iv hydration and went back for her at closing time.

Cricketscout

and here's what she and scoutie look like right now ...

how sweet is this? and, by the way, love my iphone. or as i call it, my pony. i hope we all get a good night's rest. but either way, we're all together and that's a happy night.

sweet dreams, everyone. thanks for stopping by. until tomorrow. happiness to you. from me. with heart. ox joon
