6.9.11 ... sweet hearts and eeyore

6

today i designed these little scrap fabric heart bookmarks. they consist of two coordinating fabrics with a white piece in between. the ribbons are yarn based and i added an extra square of white fabric to that section so that the yarn is between two pieces on both sides. i had fun making these spur of the moment little recycled treats.

scout found the mint green piece at 'fred' as we call the bin thrift. and, look, it has heart shaped designs! the floral piece is a vintage cotton tie piece. all of these fabrics are 100% cotton. it's the only way to sew, ladies and gents.

the piece seen in the first photo and the center heart shown here are from a designer sample. i've had it for years.

last, but never least, is this cute pin back i made out of a discarded children's book illustration. this is a surprise for one of my repeat customers. what did you do today? time for my home made chocolate silk pudding that ev just brought out.

sweet dreams, everyone. thanks for stopping by. until tomorrow. happiness to you. from me. with heart. ox joon

3.7.11 ... eeyore and friends recycled bookmark

3

i didn't get anywhere near the buttons i started yesterday. who knows where the time goes? not me. but there it went. i did create this serendipitous bookmark today and that was fun. i love it and hope the recipient will too.

it is going along with a purchase of four vintage book illustration magnets. i rifled through the remainder of that file and this was the one and only piece with eeyore so i got lucky.

the green pieces are from a paint color sample. they cover some print on the recycled piece of card stock. then i added a few colored pencil touches. i hope to get back to the word collage buttons tomorrow.

2.20.11 ... pooh ephemera magnets

today i made pooh magnet batches. the papers are original, as always - these from a discarded 1942 copy of winnie the pooh and other stories. i named the sets. the one above is a hand colored embellished set named, simply: adventures with pooh

this one, also hand colored accents: april showers - pooh floats

this is one of a set {see group photo below for its mates} called: ho hum. it looks like rain.

this set: pooh thinks. therefore he is.

this is one of a set of five called: isn't it funny how a bear loves honey?
these will all be listed in my joonbeam etsy shop asap.

i fought with the sun today, once again. i did enjoy the process from start to finish, though. this took me most of the day. interruptions included, naturally.
sweet dreams, everyone. thanks for stopping by. until tomorrow. happiness to you. from me. with heart. ox joon
