6.3.11 ... a little note to a friend

i tried to email an old friend and got the dreaded 'delivery thwarted' or whatever it's called message. so i was going to send a postcard and then i decided what the hecks, so i wrote a small note.   and, while i was looking for something else, as usual, i spied my old happiness is book and thumbed through.   and when i saw this i felt it was fate so i wrote the text on it because, in the book, the text is on the opposite page.   and i wanted to save the adorable picture of linus that is behind that page.

i like this better, as it turns out. gee, what a surprise.

and then i added the hearts. pretty dang cute, eh?

for those of you who enjoyed my tortilla post last night, never fear, i will post the recipe soon. i was thinking of doing that but a tutorial would be better so that's why i postponed it. thanks for asking. i wondered if anyone would be interested. now i know.  talk about happiness...

4.12.11 ... recycled collage note card

i have a flying housewife letter order and began working on it this afternoon. i love this card. i have some new paper that i'd forgotten about and this is the first time i'm using it. i sometimes luck into beautiful paper on the discount table at x ped x. this card stock weight paper retails for $38 a ream and was reduced to $6 i think it was. it is gorgeous. i am really looking forward to making prints from homemade stamps on it. but, for now. here is today's creation. i love the zig zag down one side and the eric carle book paper piece that compliments the colors in the illustration so perfectly.

as always my trademark thread tails are in the house.

i do hope the recipient will enjoy it. tomorrow i will work on more aspects of it. be back with you then.

We love Oscar Night. We love film. Our favorite films have it all ... exquisite cinematography, extraordinary musical scores, wonderful characters, wonderfully portrayed and, best of all, perfect dialogue.

I have plans to add a flying housewife letter with my top movie picks & reviews. I love reading people's favorite movies. I can't be the only one.

For today, I have this Wonder Boys Trailer from the NYTimes site. I am not sure I can watch this movie too many times. And the significance of it revolving around a writer's life is not lost on me. I hope you'll view the trailer and find it enticing. If this is already one of your favorite films, please leave me a note.

Meanwhile, Scout ~ lucky me: a fellow Wonder Boys fan ~ asked me the other day if being a screenwriter is dreaming too big for a 14 year old. Since then, a number of interesting signs have validated {what I know you all know was} my response. Screenplay books checked out from the library.

What a lovely surprise on this January Day. Front page exposure stats: 34 shop hearts and 17 item hearts in the 30 minutes of FP Fame. The item, itself got over 600 views! That little housewife's got something, eh? Stay warm, friends. Speaking of friends, thanks to all who text messaged, twittered, convo'd and posted kind comments about the event. I LoVe my friends.
