4.16.12 ... easter eggs of a different sort

Eastereggs121

we had a lovely time decorating these eggs last weekend. evan made the star wars themed egg designs. aren't they fabulous?

Eastereggs124

scout made a variety of designs and techniques. this tree is one of the greatest easter eggs i have ever seen. what do you think?
it's crazy.

Eastereggs127

she also did the split sihouette egg, the one with the groovy tiny curleque lines, the watercolor scenes and the bright blue jellyfish egg!
love them.

Eastereggs123

i think we will continue to decorate our eggs in this unique manner every year.

Eastereggs125

by the way, she also whips hers out in minutes. meanwhile, i am spending an hour doodling around with my silly simple designs.

if you blogged about your eggs please leave me a link in your comment.
 i'd love to see them.

4.12.11 ... recycled collage note card

4

i have a flying housewife letter order and began working on it this afternoon. i love this card. i have some new paper that i'd forgotten about and this is the first time i'm using it. i sometimes luck into beautiful paper on the discount table at x ped x. this card stock weight paper retails for $38 a ream and was reduced to $6 i think it was. it is gorgeous. i am really looking forward to making prints from homemade stamps on it. but, for now. here is today's creation. i love the zig zag down one side and the eric carle book paper piece that compliments the colors in the illustration so perfectly.

as always my trademark thread tails are in the house.

i do hope the recipient will enjoy it. tomorrow i will work on more aspects of it. be back with you then.

sweet dreams, everyone. thanks for stopping by. until tomorrow. happiness to you. from me. with heart. ox joon

3.13.11 ... making cool books

Img_4336

still not feeling well so i did some quiet creative activities today. here is one i completed before sundown. i want to organize my paper patterns to some extent. i recycle envelopes into small file pockets. they work well and are handy to carry around to another room if i need more space or just want a change of scenery. but i can use a little more organization than envelopes in a box so i label them in different styles. it helps me recognize and remember which one has what inside if they are all unique. then i nest them in a medium size rubbermaid and there i have a simple little storage filing system and everything i need is handy.

my little houses patterns and snap bracelet pattern envelopes differ in wording styles and sizes. it's a funky system but it amuses me. and that helps me stay inspired and productive. i hope you all enjoyed your spring forwarded shortened day. here's to a good week for all of us.

1.5.11 ... going in circles

how was your day? it was sunny here so i spent most of my creative time taking photos. i did start a re-fashion shirt project. today's blog photos from the art room diaries are my dictionary circles. i am going to assemble paper ephemera packets and list them in my joonE shop. the assortment will include some of these. i got the idea for these when i was making my new dictionary magnets. cricket is hogging my chair and i am balancing a small plate with a warm chocolate chip cookie while I type. That's {frustratingly} creative, isn't it?

1.3.11 ... our folk art houses

these are our first little house ornaments we made a few days before christmas. they inspire me and i have plans for variations on the theme.

i made the two on the left. scout's are in the center and ev made the polka-dot house.

today was a busy day and i worked in my art room de-cluttering. we were out all afternoon and evening. this morning scout helped me edit my posterous blog design.  i added a banner and changed a few colors.  i am going to work on an illustration or two before the day ends so i can achieve my goal of creating something every day of this year. thanks for stopping by. until tomorrow. happiness to you. from me. with heart. ox joon

Hearts and Souls

It's getting ridiculous how far behind
I am on posting my creations. I have
many lately, but when I think about
blogging, I get overwhelmed. So I am
going to post short & sweet art bites.

Here's the 1st one.
I made this for Jon Cody & Val.
I had a lot of fun designing it.
And a lot of fun creating it.
Naturally, it is totally recycled art.
I love homemade cards, don't you?

Until next time...which will be very soon...
It's a great day for America, everybody.
